Frida Escobedo Serpentine Pavillion 2018
We took some time out of the studio last week to visit the latest edition of the Serpentine Pavilion in Hyde Park London.
Staying true to the "Aesop style" (Aesop commissioned this years pavilion), Mexican Architect Frida Escobedo has stuck to a very simple palette using British made roof tiles, steel structure and concrete floor to create an enclosed courtyard.
A mirrored ceiling and shallow pooled water create reflections as visitors meander through the space, whilst the walls play on the the theme of open and closed, taking cue from the breeze wall found in traditional Mexican Architecture.
We loved the simplicity of this years pavilion, it is certainly inspiring and well worth a visit.
